The ReSound Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT in review
Diese Technik ist bereits etwas veraltet und wurde durch neuere Techniken abgelöst. Wir nehmen daher eine Abwertung in der Gesamtnote vor.
Once again, we are focusing on a hearing aid from the company ReSound. This time it is a traditional behind-the-ear hearing aid named Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT. It is a delicate, small hearing aid, and in terms of price, it falls into the affordable segment. It can be used for almost any hearing need. Let's take a look at what its interior has to offer:
Hearing comfort
Hearing comfort determines whether someone likes to wear their hearing aids or not. That’s why we first looked at how the hearing aid manages background noise. In this model, which ReSound presents to us, solid comfort programming by the audiologist is possible. Of course, noise suppression is integrated, which is intended to alleviate tiring background noises. The Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT does this quite well. In a normal listening environment, it should certainly be manageable. We consider the wind management here to be average, but it works.
Short and loud noises are usually annoying, but in this model, there is an adjustable impulsive sound control. This makes sounds like cutlery clattering, slamming drawers, or rustling newspapers less unpleasant. A real highlight of this device is spatial hearing. Recognizing directions, estimating distances – with the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT, all of this is no problem. The Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT has 14 adjustable frequency bands, placing it in the mid-range. A good acoustician can certainly extract a reasonable sound from this.
An exciting topic in audiology is the use of artificial intelligence, but this ReSound model does not utilize it yet.
Rating Hearing comfort: 2,7

ReSound Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT:
Operation & connectivity
Almost everyone of us owns a smartphone, so it’s only natural to ask whether it can be connected to the new hearing aid. Let’s take a look at the connectivity and usability of the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we have found one on the Quattro NEO 7 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. A remote control for the hearing aid is available upon request. This allows for effortless volume adjustment. The handling is not only child’s play, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
The modern form of operation via voice command is still not found in the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT. Tap Control would have been an interesting feature as well. With that, you can change the function with a quick tap on the ear. But this is not available in the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT yet.
To enhance usability, the manufacturer also provides us with an app for smartphones. The ReSound app for Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT is impressive: you can not only change the volume but also have a real impact on the sound and various noise parameters. The Quattro NEO 7 comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows us to enjoy binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normal hearers. We find this great and are happy to give it points.
Rating Operation & connectivity: 1,8

Simplicity & security
Let's continue with the test: How does it fare in terms of user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? A reliable situational automatic adjustment gives the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT important points in terms of simplicity. Most hearing situations are well recognized, so manual adjustments are rarely necessary. The integrated acclimatization manager can be a great help when entering the world of hearing aids. Its job is to gradually increase the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until the target volume is reached. This allows you to relax and gradually get used to the new auditory impressions. More information about acclimatization and other hearing aids with this feature can be found here: Acclimatization to Hearing Aids.
Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT relies on battery power instead of rechargeable batteries. Advantage: Very long runtime with one battery. Unlike rechargeable solutions, you rarely have to worry about the power supply. Disadvantage: Waste is generated in the form of used batteries. This hearing aid uses a hearing aid battery size 312.
We also take a look at the robustness of the housing and discover the protection class IP 68 in the data sheet. This means dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes a danger after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,0
Extras
Before we come to the end, let's take a look at the extras: A special tinnitus program can be programmed in the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT upon request. This allows stimulating, pleasant sounds to be generated that distract from the tinnitus when it is particularly strong. We find this very useful and are happy to award extra points.
We find the remote maintenance service exciting, which can be utilized. If one doesn't have the opportunity to go to the audiologist, they can instead contact them via the app, briefly describe their hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.
There are no sensors in this Quattro NEO 7 variant, so the popular health tracking cannot be offered. For example, steps are counted throughout the day. As mentioned - this hearing aid does not have this feature on board. It would have been nice to have a few lifestyle functions, but these are not available in the Quattro NEO 7 67-DWT. Other hearing aids may score points with language translators or fall alarms, but here it remains within the usual range of functions.
Rating Extras: 2,5

With a final grade of 2.75, this model holds its ground in the mid-range. It comes with quite acceptable comfort features that are sufficient for typical everyday moments and create a satisfying listening experience.
