The Signia Pure 1 AX Charge&Go in review
Diese Technik ist bereits etwas veraltet und erhält daher einen Abzug in der Gesamtbewertung. Neuer und besser ist der aktuelle Signia IX-Chip.
What hearing comfort does the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go offer? How is it operated? Is it worth purchasing? You can find answers to these questions in our review of this hearing aid from Signia. First, the basics: It is worn behind the ear, and the direct alignment of the speaker in the ear canal allows sound to easily travel toward the eardrum. This is important because only in this way can a really good, broadband sound be produced.
The Pure 1 AX Charge&Go is a discrete hearing aid at a moderate price that can cover nearly every hearing need. Read more details:
Hearing comfort
The hearing comfort determines whether someone enjoys wearing their hearing aids or not. That's why we first looked at how the hearing aid handles background noise. With this model, which Signia presents to us, we find only the absolute necessities regarding hearing comfort. Of course, noise suppression is integrated, intended to mitigate stressful background noises. In the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go, the manufacturer has integrated simple noise reduction, but it cannot be adjusted further. We searched in vain for wind management, as wind noise reduction does not take place here.
Unfortunately, we did not find a noise filter that reacts to short, loud sounds. Spatial hearing is also not very effective. The hearing aids can focus forward, but that doesn't help when trying to determine from which direction a car is approaching or where someone is calling from. The number of equalizer bands is crucial for adapting to hearing needs. The Charge&Go only provides 8, which does not allow for many long-term fine-tuning options.
Sometimes, the hearing care professional is just not nearby when a hearing problem arises. The Pure 1 AX Charge&Go helps you with its app, as there is a special assistant that makes precise adjustments to your hearing moment based on artificial intelligence.
Rating Hearing comfort: 4,8
Operation & connectivity
Digital hearing aids have long evolved beyond their standard amplification function. Apps and other control options greatly expand their range of features, which is why we are also looking at this important topic with the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go from Signia. For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for special hearing situations through it. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet adjustments to the volume or sound.
For some time now, there has been a trend to adjust hearing aids louder or quieter using voice commands. The idea is really good, but Signia is not quite there yet with this device. Don’t worry, this feature would be nice, but it is not essential. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be conceivable, which would trigger a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this option is not available in the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go.
In the AppStore, we also find a suitable application from Signia. The app for the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go isn't among our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. Problems with making calls on your smartphone are a thing of the past with this device. Phone calls, music, and other sounds are completely wirelessly transmitted to the hearing aids. Headphones become unnecessary. We tested the wireless transmission during longer phone calls as well as for listening to music while exercising. Everything worked simply and smoothly. Only a compatible smartphone with 2.4 GHz wireless technology is required.
Rating Operation & connectivity: 2,0

Simplicity & security
An important factor for the acceptance of a hearing aid is its everyday usability. This includes, for example, automated functions as well as robustness and user-friendliness. We do not necessarily experience simple, comfortable hearing with the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go. In a quieter daily life, one can manage quite well, but as soon as one has a varied hearing routine, one cannot avoid manual adjustments. Very important to us in terms of simplicity is the support during the acclimatization process. Especially after hearing poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device features an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adaptation phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
A great relief in everyday life is the integrated battery. With this, my Pure 1 AX Charge&Go always has enough power for the whole day, and I no longer have to worry about the batteries suddenly being empty in the middle of an event. Even with limited dexterity, a battery system is very helpful because the insertion of small button cells is no longer necessary.
The Pure 1 AX is almost dustproof and waterproof and, with its IP 68 classification, is certainly well protected against external influences.

Signia Pure 1 AX Charge&Go:
Extras
At the end of our test report, there is still a bit of space for extra features: a tinnitus program would be an additional bonus. Many people suffering from their ear noises could benefit from this. Unfortunately, the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go does not have a tinnitus option, which costs a few points in the test.
We really like the remote adjustment feature. This is very helpful whenever you just want to make a small change to the hearing aid settings but don't want to make a special trip to the hearing professional. Instead, you can contact them through the app, and the hearing expert sends back a customized data package in the same way.
If Signia had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, individual health tracking could even be possible. However, this is not the case here. These points are lost for the Pure 1 AX Charge&Go in the rating. The device from Signia focuses on essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation features. While that would have been fun, it is not necessary for a good listening experience.
Rating Extras: 3,3
