The Signia Pure 1 X Charge&Go in review
This test report is about the Pure 1 X Charge&Go. It was developed by Signia and addresses light, moderate, and severe hearing needs. This variant is worn behind the ear. The Pure 1 X Charge&Go is a small hearing aid from a solid mid-range price category. We achieve clean sound transmission through the innovative placement of the speaker directly in the ear canal.
Hearing comfort
In the section on hearing comfort, we look at how a hearing aid deals with all the background noise. Comfortable noise management significantly contributes to a user liking and regularly wearing their hearing aids. In this Signia device, we find only the absolute essentials regarding hearing comfort. The regular noise suppression aims to reduce uniform, ambient background noises. The Pure 1 X Charge&Go has only a minimal basic reduction. A certain level of noise tolerance should be expected from the hearing aid user here.
An impulse sound suppressor is unfortunately not included in the Pure 1 X Charge&Go. Unfortunately, this hearing aid also does not yet feature wind noise suppression. What a pity. The microphones in the Pure 1 X Charge&Go can be directed forward in the line of sight. However, this is the only aspect that somewhat supports spatial hearing. The 8 frequency channels are okay. However, it might be that programming to individual hearing needs is not entirely precise, and some compromises in sound quality may have to be made.
For difficult hearing situations, Signia offers a special strategy: In the app, you will find an assistance function that allows for spontaneous and precise adjustments based on artificial intelligence. It's a kind of intelligent immediate help if you're not near your audiologist.
Rating Hearing comfort: 4,8

Signia Pure 1 X Charge&Go:
Operation & connectivity
“Can I make adjustments to my hearing aid myself?” “Is there perhaps an app?” These and similar questions are becoming increasingly important when selecting a hearing aid, which is why we are taking a look at the operating and connectivity options. For those who want to quickly and easily make the sound louder or quieter, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for special listening situations through it. We do enjoy the small remote controls, and for this model, we found one. This allows you to discreetly make small changes to the volume or sound.
We are always delighted when a hearing aid surprises us with a great additional function. For example, we would have liked to see voice control at this point. However, it is not currently available in the Pure 1 X Charge&Go. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be possible, triggering a specific function by tapping your fingers on your ear. However, this option is not available in the Pure 1 X Charge&Go.
As is common today, we also find a smartphone app for the Pure 1 X Charge&Go. This app includes solid basic functions and adds a few goodies on top. The Pure 1 X comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows us to enjoy stereo phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normally hearing individuals. We think that's great and are happy to award points.

Simplicity & security
We are also interested in how quickly one can get along with the Pure 1 X Charge&Go and how easy daily use is. Unfortunately, Pure 1 X Charge&Go does not offer automatic situation detection; we have to make manual adjustments to hear well in different acoustic situations. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.
A great relief in everyday life is the built-in battery. With this, my Pure 1 X Charge&Go always has enough energy for the whole day, and I no longer have to worry that the batteries will suddenly run out in the middle of an event. Even with limited dexterity, a battery system is very helpful because the insertion of small button cells is no longer necessary.
The Pure 1 X is virtually dustproof and waterproof, and with its IP 68 classification, it is certainly well protected against external influences.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,3
Extras
Finally, we want to know if the hearing aid possibly offers any specials: Manufacturers often implement a tinnitus program in their hearing aids to somewhat alleviate the annoying ringing. However, Signia has chosen not to include this feature in this model. This is unfortunate, as it would provide a real added benefit for many people.
A very good added benefit comes from the offering of remote support. Through the app, one can contact their hearing care professional and describe their hearing issue. They can then adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. For people with little time or a long travel distance, this is a great service.
If Signia had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, it could even allow for individual health tracking. However, this is not the case here. These points detract from the rating of the Pure 1 X Charge&Go. The functionality of the Pure 1 X Charge&Go is limited to normal hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features like fall alert or Siri connections provide a decent added value, but they are not relevant for good hearing balance.
Rating Extras: 3,3
Conclusion: Signia Pure 1 X Charge&Go
In summary, this device ranks in the lower positions and provides us with hardly more than a solid basic equipment. Of course, one can understand speech with the device, just like with all hearing aids, but not much is done to alleviate the listening effort. Our overall rating: 4.71. Please always consider this rating in relation to the price range of this hearing aid.
