The Signia Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T in review
Diese Technik ist bereits etwas veraltet und erhält daher einen Abzug in der Gesamtbewertung. Neuer und besser ist der aktuelle Signia IX-Chip.
In this test report, we discuss the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T. It has been developed by Signia and covers mild to severe hearing losses. This version is worn behind the ear. The Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T is a discreet hearing aid from the lower mid-range. We achieve clean sound transmission through the cleverly chosen placement of the speaker in the ear canal.
Hearing comfort
First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the listening experience becomes. In this hearing aid, we found very few options for comfort adjustment. The traditional noise suppression reduces uniform, insignificant sounds a bit. In the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T, the noise cancellation delivers a rather moderate performance. If you are not too sensitive to noise, that might be sufficient. Those who enjoy being outdoors will appreciate the wind noise suppression. While it doesn’t dampen as much, it is definitely useful.
Our test discovered impulse noise suppression. It slightly reduces loud, sudden sounds. The hearing aid automatically decides whether to focus the microphones towards a speaker or not. You get a decent spatial impression, but accurately determining directions or estimating distances through hearing is not so easy. The number of equalizer bands is very important for adjusting to hearing needs. The Charge&Go T only provides 8 and offers limited fine-tuning options in the long term.
Despite modern comfort features, tricky hearing situations can still arise. For this reason, the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T has an assistance mode in its app. Behind this lies an artificial intelligence that analyzes the current environment and calculates a noticeably better setting.
Rating Hearing comfort: 3,8
Operation & connectivity
The majority of features are activated automatically by this Signia model. However, it is sometimes very useful to be able to expand the range of functions a little. In our test, we found out which options we have here. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the Pure 2 AX as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be turned off if desired. We do like the small remote controls, and we found one for this model. This allows for discreet adjustments to the volume or sound.
During the test, we did not find any option for voice control. While this feature is not necessarily essential, we would have appreciated it nonetheless. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, a tap control could be possible, which would trigger a specific function by tapping the ear with fingers. However, this option is not available in the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T.
It is very convenient to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is also a free app for the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T. In our opinion, the range of features is average but usually sufficient. It’s best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. The Pure 2 AX comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows for binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normally hearing individuals. We think that’s great and are happy to give points.
Rating Operation & connectivity: 1,8

Simplicity & security
Let’s continue with the test: How does it fare in terms of user-friendliness? Is it easy or complicated to use the hearing aid? Unfortunately, the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T does not have a powerful situational automatic feature. We have to make do with a few standard settings. Active hearing aid users will certainly encounter limitations here. A great bonus in this hearing aid is the automatic acclimatization. Especially when someone has been hearing poorly for a long time and then wears a hearing aid for the first time, this is an enormous relief. The volume does not have to be turned up immediately. You can start at a lower level, and very gradually and almost imperceptibly, the amplification approaches the target.
The Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T comes with a charging station, as it has built-in batteries. This is modern, user-friendly, and something we also expect from a contemporary hearing aid.
The data sheet certifies the Signia device with an IP protection class rating of 68. This makes it one of the most durable hearing aids on the market. Dust doesn’t stand a chance, and water doesn’t penetrate the housing unless it is submerged deeper than 1.5 meters. Nonetheless, be careful. Shampoo, for example, alters the surface tension of water. You should also avoid saltwater. However, in everyday life, you can behave quite carefree.

Extras
Finally, let's take a quick look at whether there are any extras: We really liked the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently troubled by a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Pure 2 AX Charge&Go T is essentially just a sound generator. It aims to produce broad-spectrum noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all hearing areas. The tinnitus is drowned out and no longer perceived as bothersome.
A real added value is the remote maintenance service. For a change in hearing aid settings, you no longer have to go to the specialist store, but can directly contact the acoustician through the app. Through a cloud service, you can then load the new data package into the hearing aids. This is exactly what we expect from a modern hearing aid.
Tracking health data is a real added value in modern hearing aids. However, this Signia model lacks the sensors for this service. The hearing aid also forgoes additional features like special assistance systems, a fall alert, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
Rating Extras: 2,5
