The Pure 2 X Charge&Go from Signia is a small hearing aid worn behind the ear. Thanks to its use as the comfortable position of the speaker in the ear canal, very good sound transmission is possible. The Pure 2 X Charge&Go is a hearing aid from the lower mid-range and is suitable for mild, moderate, and more severe hearing needs.

Hearing comfort

First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the listening experience becomes. With this hearing aid, we found only a few options for influencing comfort. The traditional noise reduction ensures that uniform, unimportant sounds are slightly diminished. In the Pure 2 X Charge&Go, we are not exactly spoiled but can manage well with basic noise reduction. This device can detect wind and slightly reduce the noise.

The impulse sound management in this device is not really recommended. Short, loud noises still sound quite harsh. The microphones in the Pure 2 X Charge&Go can be switched to face forward. However, this is the only feature that slightly supports spatial hearing. With 8 frequency bands, we are not entirely satisfied with the Charge&Go, but it should be sufficient for uncomplicated hearing curves. The sound will probably not be completely natural.

Despite modern comfort features, tricky hearing situations can still arise. For this, the Pure 2 X Charge&Go has an assistance mode in its app. Behind this is an artificial intelligence that analyzes the current environment and calculates a noticeably better setting.

Operation & connectivity

“Can I adjust something on my hearing aid myself?” “Is there maybe an app?” These and similar questions are becoming increasingly important when choosing a hearing aid, so let’s take a look at the control and connection options. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and with the Pure 2 X, we found one as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button, and it can also be deactivated if desired. A remote control is available for the Pure 2 X Charge&Go. It’s quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up and down option as well as various hearing programs.

In the test, we did not find any option for voice control. This feature is not necessarily essential, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Tap Control would have also been an interesting feature. With it, you can change the function by tapping your ear. But that’s not available in this Pure 2 X Charge&Go yet.

In the App Store, we also found a suitable application from Signia. The app for the Pure 2 X Charge&Go isn’t one of our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. You don’t need headphones anymore because it has a wireless option and can transfer sounds directly from the smartphone to your ears - if the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

Simplicity & security

Usability is the next aspect we want to address. This concerns everyday practicality and the question of how easy and safe it is to navigate life with the hearing aid. We expected a bit more support in our hearing experiences with the automatic situation detection. While the situations "Quiet" and "Noise" are recognized, the sound environment is usually a bit more complex. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually increases the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.

The Pure 2 X Charge&Go is rechargeable and no longer requires batteries. This is not only environmentally friendly but also very convenient to use, freeing me from the burden of constantly thinking about battery replacements.

We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and discover in the datasheet that it has an IP 68 protection class. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes a risk after prolonged submersion. There is also protection against contact.

Extras

Finally, we want to know if the hearing aid perhaps offers any specials: Signia has integrated a noise generator that plays some soothing sounds for those suffering from tinnitus. This can distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.

We find the remote service interesting, which you can take advantage of. If you don't have the opportunity to visit the audiologist, you can contact them via the app, briefly describe your hearing problem, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, you can upload it to your hearing aids.

A new trend in the hearing aid industry is integrated sensors that can track some personal health data, for example. However, the Pure 2 X Charge&Go does not offer this. This Signia hearing aid has no additional lifestyle options. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but you don't need that for good hearing. It would have just made the product a bit cooler.

Im Gesamtergebnis landet dieses Testgerät auf den hinteren Plätzen und lässt einige Ausstattungsmerkmale vermissen. Wir vergeben die Note 4,06. Für anspruchsarme Hörer ist das in Ordnung, für einen sehr aktiven Lebensstil empfehlen wir allerdings ein Hörgerät mit umfangreicheren Komfortmerkmalen.
