The Signia Pure 7 X Charge&Go in review

Signia presents the Pure 7 X Charge&Go, a model from the premium class. It can accommodate almost any hearing need. It is a small hearing aid that delivers good sound through the speaker that sits directly in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.

Hearing comfort

First, we assess the hearing comfort features. What types of sounds does the hearing aid recognize? How does it handle them? Is the hearing aid suitable for a varied daily life? Here with this test device, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive sound management. As with all hearing aids, we also find the typical background noise cancellation here. It aims to reduce monotonous, noisy ambient sounds to the point where they are no longer in the foreground. The Pure 7 X Charge&Go includes a remarkable, well-functioning noise reduction.

The Pure 7 X Charge&Go impresses us with its wind noise reduction and offers good performance in this regard. Quickly occurring, clattering sounds are noticeably and adequately dampened, which we find pleasant. For a precise, natural listening experience, the number of adjustable frequency bands is of great importance. With 20, this Signia device is a true top model and allows for differentiated fine-tuning over several years. Spatial hearing is reliably supported by multifunctional microphones and is definitely practical.

Sometimes, the hearing professional is just not nearby when a hearing problem arises. The Pure 7 X Charge&Go helps you with its app, as it features a special assistant that uses artificial intelligence to make precise adjustments based on your hearing moment.

Operation & connectivity

Everyone has their own unique hearing needs. It's advantageous to be able to customize hearing aids beyond the automatic functions. In our test, we discovered the following access options: For those who want to quickly and easily adjust the volume, there is a button on the device. You can also select additional programs for specific hearing situations. A remote control is available for the Pure 7 X Charge&Go. It's quite practical, fits in your pocket, and offers volume adjustments as well as various hearing programs.

In our test, we found no option for voice control. This feature isn't necessarily required, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Tap Control would have also been an interesting feature. With a quick tap on the ear, you can change the function. However, this is not yet available on the Pure 7 X Charge&Go.

In the App Store, we also found a suitable application from Signia. The app for the Pure 7 X Charge&Go may not be one of our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. You no longer need headphones, as it has a wireless option and can stream sounds directly from a smartphone to your ears – provided the smartphone is equipped with 2.4 GHz LE technology.

Simplicity & security

Now let's take a look at how usage is structured in everyday life. Is the handling easy? Do I receive a safe device? A well-functioning situational awareness creates a lot of relaxation in the hearing experience. One does not have to constantly adjust the device and can easily enjoy the automated adjustments. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually raises the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and slowly get used to the new hearing impressions.

A great relief in everyday life is the integrated battery. With this, my Pure 7 X Charge&Go always has enough power for the entire day, and I no longer have to worry that the batteries will suddenly be empty during an event. Even with limited dexterity, a battery system is very helpful because there is no need to insert small button cells.

With IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it can also withstand prolonged submersion in water, and it is protected against contact as well.

Extras

Lastly, we are interested in whether there are any additional goodies: Signia has integrated a sound generator that plays soothing sounds for those suffering from tinnitus. This can distract from the tinnitus and provide a bit more relaxation.

We find the remote maintenance service exciting, which can be utilized. If one doesn’t have the opportunity to visit the hearing care professional, they can contact them via the app, briefly describe their hearing issue, and then receive a data package with a new hearing aid configuration. If it sounds good, they can upload it to their hearing aids.

If Signia had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, an individual health tracking could even be possible. However, that is not the case here. These points detract from the score for the Pure 7 X Charge&Go. The device from Signia focuses on the essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation features. While that would be fun, it is not necessary for a good listening experience.
