As expected, we find a suitable app for smartphones. Here, we have a powerful app that trusts its user and provides a comprehensive toolbox. One of the best features of the hearing aid is the direct streaming function. This turns the hearing aid into a TrueWireless headset and receives phone calls and other sounds directly in the ear. The prerequisite is a compatible smartphone that includes 2.4 GHz technology. The greatest advantage is that you hear phone calls not only in one ear but in both. Additionally, the sound can be tailored to personal needs.

Ein wichtiger Faktor für die Akzeptanz eines Hörgerätes ist die Alltagstauglichkeit. Dabei geht es z.B. um automatisierte Funktionen oder auch um Robustheit und Benutzerfreundlichkeit. Beim Hören erleichtert uns eine Situationserkennung das Leben. Im Evolv AI 1200 ITC R ist die nicht ganz so ausgeklügelt. Das bedeutet, dass das Hörgerät sehr wohl zwischen leiseren und lauteren Umgebungen unterscheiden kann und sich entsprechend darauf einstellt. Aber die herausfordernden Momente, wenn es z.B. laute Gespräche in einer starken Geräuschkulisse gibt, die werden nicht so gut kompensiert. Ganz wichtig in Sachen Einfachheit ist uns die Unterstützung bei der Eingewöhnung. Gerade nachdem man jahrelang schlecht gehört hat, ist es manchmal schwer, alles in einer naturgetreuen Lautstärke wahrzunehmen. In unserem Testgerät gibt es einen Akklimatisierungsmanager, der uns mit ganz kleinen Lautstärkeanpassungen über die Gewöhnungsphase hinweg hilft. Nach einigen Wochen oder Monaten haben wir dann den berechneten Verstärkungslevel erreicht.

Das Evolv AI 1200 ITC R ist aufladbar und benötigt keine Batterien mehr. Das ist nicht nur umweltfreundlich, sondern auch in der Handhabung sehr bequem und befreit mich von der Last, ständig an Batterienachschub zu denken.

Für ein sicheres Alltagsgefühl ist auch ein solider Staub- und Feuchtigkeitsschutz wichtig. Allerdings liegt hier keinerlei IP-Zertifizierung vor. Vermutlich ist dieses Modell gegen eindringenden Staub oder Feuchtigkeit nicht wirklich gut gewappnet. Das ist nicht zeitgemäß und gibt Punktabzug.

Zum Schluss schauen wir kurz, ob es noch irgendwelche Extras gibt: Ein spezielles Tinnitusprogramm ist im Evolv AI 1200 ITC R auf Wunsch programmierbar. Damit können stimulierende, angenehme Geräusche generiert werden, die vom Tinnitus ablenken, wenn er mal wieder besonders stark ist. Das finden wir sehr nützlich und vergeben gerne Extrapunkte.

Die Möglichkeit zur Ferneinstellung finden wir richtig gut. Die ist immer dann sehr hilfreich, wenn man nur eine Kleinigkeit an der Hörgerät-Einstellung verändert haben möchte, aber nicht extra zum Hörakustiker fahren will. Den Kontakt nimmt man stattdessen über die App auf, und der Hörprofi schickt ein angepasstes Datenpaket auf dem gleichen Weg zurück.

Sensoren im Hörgerät ermöglichen Funktionen, die einen echten Mehrwert bieten. In diesem Modell von Starkey stecken solche Sensoren drin und zählen z.B. über den Tag hinweg Ihre Schritte. Die Daten lassen sich dann in der App anschauen. Es kann gut sein, dass über nachfolgende Updates noch weitere Tracking-Funktionen hinzukommen.  Richtig gut gefallen haben uns die Zusatzfunktionen, die im Evolv AI 1200 ITC R stecken. Verschiedene Assistenten unterstützen Ihren Alltag jenseits des Hörens und lassen sich in der App konfigurieren. Solche Hörgeräte will man nicht mehr hergeben. Übrigens: An diesen Lifestyle-Funktionen wird oft noch gearbeitet, es kann also sein, dass die sich je nach Update auch mal ändern.
