With the B Moxi 3 R T, we have to make do with a minimal level of noise suppression. Wind can significantly restrict hearing comfort outdoors when it blows over the microphones. However, the B Moxi 3 R T has efficient wind noise suppression integrated. It works really well and will delight people who enjoy being outside. It can be adjusted in several levels to suit personal needs.
Impulse sound suppression is a very important element in the comfort features of a hearing aid. It dampens popping and clattering noises. The B Moxi 3 R T provides this damping in several levels. This definitely earns some plus points. The hearing aid can independently focus on the speaker in front, but we don't get much more support for spatial hearing from the B Moxi 3 R T. While it doesn’t have a lot of adjustable equalizer bands, the 12 should be sufficient for a good hearing result.

In our test, we discovered the following access options: First, we found a button directly on the hearing aid. This is very useful, as it is the simplest and quickest way to make a change. The volume can be adjusted through it, and different hearing programs can also be activated. If one prefers not to adjust anything directly at the ear, the button can of course be deactivated. Those who do not like to touch their ear to raise the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows you to make adjustments to the hearing aid comfortably and discreetly.
A sensible addition is the ability to control the B Moxi 3 R T with voice commands. This is something we already know from smartphones or car navigation systems, and it can also be very practical in a hearing aid. We were quite impressed by the tap control during our test. Just tap your ear briefly, and your Unitron hearing aid knows that it should do something. We were already familiar with this sensor-controlled technology from wireless headphones, and it's great that there is something like this now in hearing aids.
In the App Store, we also find a suitable application from Unitron. The app for the B Moxi 3 R T is not one of our highlights, but it has everything you need for your hearing systems. One of the best features of the hearing aid is the direct streaming function. This turns the hearing aid into a TrueWireless headphone, receiving phone calls and other sounds directly in the ear. A compatible smartphone that contains 2.4 GHz technology is required. The biggest advantage is that you can hear phone calls not only in one ear but in both. Additionally, the sound can be tailored to personal needs.

However, the B Moxi 3 R T struggles with changing or difficult acoustic environments, as it lacks some adaptive algorithms. Additionally, it's advisable to have a few extra hearing programs set up for this device. The integrated acclimatization manager can be of great help when entering the world of hearing aids. Its function is to gradually increase the hearing aid's volume in tiny steps until the target volume is reached. This way, you can relax and slowly get used to the new hearing impressions. The B Moxi 3 R T has a built-in battery. We think this is great because rechargeable hearing aids are absolutely up to date. You don't have to keep batteries lying around everywhere, nor do you have to change the battery in the middle of a concert. The hearing aid is simply placed in the charging station overnight and has enough energy for the following day.
The hearing aid has been classified into IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against the ingress of dust. Water also cannot easily harm the hearing aid. This makes it well-suited for outdoor activities, where it might get wet and dirty. However, you should still not go swimming or bathing with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can change the composition and ultimately cause damage.

At the end of our test report, there is still a bit of space for the extra features: The tinnitus program is definitely worth mentioning. Those plagued by annoying ear noises will benefit from it. Pleasant, soft sounds are set to gently surround the tinnitus. In the end, the tinnitus fades into the background noise and becomes hardly noticeable.
A clever tool is the integrated remote maintenance service. Almost everyone has a smartphone, and time is a precious commodity. Therefore, such a remote maintenance service is absolutely appropriate. Those who need a new programming for their hearing aids can easily get in touch with the audiologist through the app and describe their hearing preferences. Through a cloud service, the professional can then send an individual adjustment as a data package to the app. From there, it is uploaded to the hearing aid and can be tested immediately. This definitely earns extra points in our test.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the B Moxi 3 R T. Other hearing aids already offer a few advanced options such as a fall alarm or reminder functions. We do not find these here, and that is not very dramatic, as the normal hearing functions are still the most important.
