In this test report, we discuss the B Moxi 7 R T. It was developed by Unitron and covers light, moderate, and severe hearing loss. This variant is worn behind the ear. The B Moxi 7 R T is a small hearing aid of a high-quality level. We achieve clean sound transmission through the direct alignment of the speaker in the ear canal.

The hearing aid has adaptive microphones that perform very well in spatial hearing. We found a proud 20 equalizer bands in the B Moxi 7 R T. In each band, the hearing aid activates its noise management, filters out disruptive elements, and retains important speech components. Acoustic adjustments can be targeted and precise. We are very satisfied with that. Especially with jagged or steeply falling hearing curves, such a hearing aid can be very useful. Speech in noisy environments is always a challenge. Unitron addresses this issue with the use of artificial intelligence. The result is brilliant and clear speech transmission while ambient noise remains realistically loud in the ear.

The operation options for hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as anyone would like. The basic functions are of course fully automatic. We wanted to know how a user can additionally access the B Moxi 7 R T. First, we discovered a button directly on the hearing aid. This is very useful as it is the easiest and quickest way to make adjustments. The volume can be adjusted through it, and different hearing programs can also be activated. If someone prefers not to make any adjustments directly at the ear, the button can of course be deactivated. Very practical is the small remote control, which is available as an option. For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to turn the hearing aid louder or quieter or to switch to another hearing program. No one notices it, and there is no need to reach for the ear.
Sometimes it is simply impractical to first take out the smartphone or the remote control. In this case, voice control proves to be a clever alternative. Even with limited finger dexterity, operating by voice command can be a real help. Increasingly, functionalities are being incorporated into hearing aids that are already familiar from other areas. Here in the B Moxi 7 R T, it is the Tap control. It is enough to briefly tap the ear shell with your fingers or the flat of your hand, and a command is triggered. This could be, for example, the start of a transmission from the television adapter. Your hearing care professional will help you find the appropriate function.
It is very convenient to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is also a free app for the B Moxi 7 R T. In our opinion, the range of functions is mediocre, but usually sufficient. It is best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. The B Moxi 7 comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows us to enjoy binaural phone calls. This even gives us an advantage over normal hearing individuals. We think this is great and are happy to give points.

Hearing in daily life is facilitated by the good automatic programming in the B Moxi 7 R T. It is rarely necessary to use the manual hearing programs because the automatic already covers many situations. Very important in terms of simplicity is the support during the acclimatization process. Especially after hearing poorly for years, it can sometimes be difficult to perceive everything at a natural volume. Our test device features an acclimatization manager that helps us with very small volume adjustments throughout the adaptation phase. After a few weeks or months, we then reach the calculated amplification level.
An extremely useful development in recent years, in our opinion, is the integrated rechargeable battery. In our everyday lives, we are used to recharging electronic devices. The B Moxi 7 R T is also rechargeable, so we can avoid the hassle of changing batteries.
We had a carefree everyday life in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and subsequently took out the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only applies to fresh, natural water and not to foamy bathwater or saltwater.

Über ein paar Extra-Funktionen freut sich jeder, also schauen wir mal, ob wir hier fündig werden: Hier ist uns die Tinnitus-Option aufgefallen. Wer mag, kann sich ein spezielles Tinnitus-Programm einrichten lassen. Das legt bei Bedarf ein sanftes Rauschen auf die Ohren, um vom nervigen Tinnitus ein wenig abzulenken. Die Geräusche können nach dem persönlichen Hörgeschmack gestaltet werden.
Einen echten Mehrwert bietet der Fernwartungsdienst. Für eine Veränderung der Hörgeräteeinstellung muss man nicht mehr zwingend ins Fachgeschäft gehen, sondern kann direkt über die App Kontakt zum Akustiker aufnehmen. Über einen Cloud-Dienst kann man dann das neue Datenpaket in die Hörgeräte laden. Genau so etwas erwarten wir von einem zeitgemäßen Hörgerät.
Das Tracken von Gesundheitsdaten ist ein echter Mehrwert in modernen Hörgeräten. Für diesen Dienst fehlen diesem Unitron-Modell allerdings die Sensoren. Bei anderen Hörgeräten gibt es schon ein paar erweiterte Optionen wie einen Sturzalarm oder Erinnerungsfunktionen. Hier finden wir das nicht, und das ist auch gar nicht so dramatisch, denn die normalen Hörfunktionen sind immer noch am wichtigsten.
