Unitron presents the DX Moxi 3 Fit model, which belongs to the more affordable category. It can compensate for mild, moderate, and severe hearing needs. It is a delicate, small hearing aid that delivers good sound quality due to the comfortable position of the speaker in the ear canal. It is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
The comfort features determine how pleasant hearing is experienced in everyday life. This hearing aid allows for solid comfort programming by the audiologist. A classic noise suppression aims to reduce annoying background noises to a manageable level. In the DX Moxi 3 Fit, we are not dealing with the most powerful option, but for everyday use, the noise suppression should suffice. The wind suppression here is very solid and satisfies us in daily life.
Short and sharp sounds can often be bothersome, but in this model, there is an adjustable impulse sound control. This makes sounds like cutlery clattering, slamming drawers, or rustling newspapers feel less unpleasant. In our tests, we also examine spatial hearing. While adaptive microphones are integrated, the wireless connectivity between the two ears is lacking, making it impossible to reconstruct true 3D hearing. Nevertheless, one can cope well. With a little practice, directional hearing can be retrained. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but working with the existing 12 channels is already quite effective.
Strategies based on artificial intelligence have not yet been implemented in this hearing aid from Unitron.

Operation & connectivity
The majority of hearing aids automatically adjust to their environment. However, it is sometimes very practical to be able to change something yourself. After all, the hearing aid doesn't know how you are feeling at the moment. We looked into the control options offered by the DX Moxi 3 Fit: First, we discovered a button directly on the hearing aid. This is very useful, as it is the simplest and quickest way to make adjustments. The volume can be adjusted through it, and different listening programs can also be activated. If you prefer not to change anything directly on your ear, you can of course deactivate the button. Those who don't like to touch their ear to raise the volume will appreciate the optional remote control. This allows for comfortable and discreet adjustments to the hearing aid.
Voice commands are a relatively new way of controlling hearing aids. However, this model does not yet have that capability. This is not a big deal - the main thing is to be able to hear well. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tap control. You simply tap on your ear with your fingers, which triggers a specific function. But this functionality is not available in this Unitron device.
Manual control includes an app. This allows you to access the hearing aid inconspicuously. In addition to volume control, you can also adjust hearing programs and a few other functions. We really enjoyed the direct, wireless streaming. This means that calls from your smartphone are transmitted to the hearing aids without any additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is incredibly comfortable.

Simplicity & security
Of course, we are also interested in how quickly one gets used to the DX Moxi 3 Fit and how easy daily use is. The situational recognition did not particularly impress us. Quiet and loud environments are identified, and the DX Moxi 3 Fit adjusts accordingly. However, as soon as the acoustic conditions become more demanding and various noise sources occur simultaneously, you may need to make some adjustments to the hearing aid yourself. The device supports the adjustment to the new hearing experience with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. All I have to do is wear my hearing aids regularly.
The DX Moxi 3 Fit is not rechargeable. It operates with hearing aid batteries size 312. Disadvantage: The batteries are disposed of after use. Advantage: The daily recharging of batteries is eliminated, and the hearing aid runs continuously for several days on a single battery.
The DX Moxi 3 is nearly dust and water resistant, and with its IP 68 classification, it is certainly well-protected against external influences.

Extras
In conclusion, we want to know if the hearing aid offers any specials: Here we noticed the tinnitus option. Those who wish can have a special tinnitus program set up. This gently masks the annoying tinnitus with soft noise, providing some distraction. The sounds can be customized according to personal hearing preferences.
We find the remote adjustment feature really great. It is very helpful when you only want to make a small change to the hearing aid settings but don't want to travel to the audiologist. Instead, you can make contact through the app, and the hearing professional will send back a customized data package in the same way.
Tracking health data is a real added value in modern hearing aids. However, this Unitron model lacks the sensors for this service. The functionality of the DX Moxi 3 Fit is limited to regular hearing, which is perfectly fine. Additional features such as fall alerts or Siri connections do provide considerable value but are not relevant for good hearing balance.

Conclusion: Unitron DX Moxi 3 Fit
In the overall results, this test device ranks towards the bottom and lacks some features. We give it a rating of 3.68. This is acceptable for less demanding listeners, but for a very active lifestyle, we recommend a hearing aid with more extensive comfort features.
Especially good overall result: This hearing aid has already been listed on the test winner page and is therefore one of the best hearing aids in its class: Test Winner Hearing Aids.
