The Unitron DX Moxi 9 Move R in review
Mit dem B Moxi 9 ist bereits eine aktuellere Technik auf den Markt gekommen. Wir haben daher in der Gesamtnote eine Abwertung vorgenommen.
Could this hearing aid from the Unitron program be right for you? In our review of the DX Moxi 9 Move R, we have highlighted the key aspects. We have here a small hearing aid from the premium segment that is worn behind the ear. The direct alignment of the speaker in the ear canal lays the foundation for good hearing success, as the sound only has a very short distance to travel to the eardrum. This ensures that all sounds arrive exactly where we want them.
The DX Moxi 9 Move R provides sufficient amplification for almost any hearing need.
Hearing comfort
The comfort features determine how enjoyable daily listening experiences are. This hearing aid provides the customer with comprehensive noise management. A classic noise suppression system aims to reduce annoying background noises to a tolerable level. The DX Moxi 9 Move R includes impressive, well-functioning noise reduction. This device offers excellent wind management, making outdoor activities enjoyable.
We are pleased to find good and efficient impulse sound damping here. It is definitely useful in everyday life, as it noticeably absorbs the sound of door slamming, dish clinking, or similarly jarring noises. A true highlight of this device is spatial hearing. Recognizing directions and estimating distances – all of this is no problem with the DX Moxi 9 Move R. The number of frequency bands is very important for good speech-noise differentiation. With 20 frequency bands, this hearing aid is among the best and offers excellent customization options.
Unitron is not yet utilizing artificial intelligence in this version.

Operation & connectivity
Every person has their own unique hearing needs. It is beneficial to be able to customize hearing aids beyond the automatic functions. In our tests, we discovered the following access options: For those who want to adjust the volume quickly and easily, there is a button on the device. Additional programs for specific hearing situations can also be selected through it. The small remote control, which is available as an option, is very practical. For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to turn the hearing aid up or down or switch to another hearing program. Nobody notices anything; reaching for the ear is not necessary.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but this one from Unitron unfortunately cannot yet. It would be practical when fingers are not so mobile anymore or when one simply likes smart gadgets. There is no control of the hearing aids with a simple tap for this Unitron model, as it would have required certain sensors in the housing.
It is very comfortable to adjust the hearing aids via the app. There is also a free app for the DX Moxi 9 Move R. In our opinion, the range of functions is average but mostly sufficient. It is best to try it out in demo mode beforehand. For our digital daily life, a streaming option would be nice. The present device fulfills our wish and comes with a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows calls and sounds to be sent directly from the smartphone to the hearing aids.

Simplicity & security
Let's continue with the test: How is the usability? Is it easy or complicated to handle the hearing aid? The DX Moxi 9 Move R performs really well in situation recognition. Those who desire a comprehensive and powerful full automation in a hearing aid and prefer minimal adjustments on their own will be well served here. The adaptive algorithms disentangle the individual sound events in the environment and present the soundscape clearly and precisely. This device supports the adjustment to the new hearing experience with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. I don't have to do anything other than wear my hearing aids regularly.
A significant relief in daily life is the built-in battery. With this, my DX Moxi 9 Move R always has enough power for the entire day, and I no longer have to worry that the batteries will suddenly run out in the middle of an event. Even with limited dexterity, a battery system is very helpful because it eliminates the need to insert small button cells.
With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it can endure prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.

Extras
Finally, let's take a brief look at whether there are any extras available: we noticed the tinnitus option here. Those who wish can have a special tinnitus program set up. This gently plays soft noise in the ears to distract a bit from the annoying tinnitus. The sounds can be tailored to personal hearing preferences.
You gain a very good additional benefit from the remote maintenance service. Through the app, you can contact your hearing specialist and describe your hearing issue. They can adjust the settings accordingly and upload them to the hearing aids via the app. This is a great service for people with little time or a long commute.
Many hearing aids today still come with a few health functions. However, since the DX Moxi 9 Move R does not have any special sensors for this purpose, we cannot present any special features here. It would have been nice to have a few lifestyle functions as well, but those are not available in the DX Moxi 9 Move R. Other hearing aids can score points with speech translators or fall alarms, but here it remains within the usual range of functions.
