The noise reduction can be configured in several stages and provides a clearly noticeable reduction at maximum level.

An impulse sound suppression is a very important element in the comfort features of a hearing aid. This dampens cracking and clattering sounds. In the V Moxi 9 RS, this damping occurs in several levels, definitely earning some extra points. Some hearing aids reach their limits when the wind sweeps across the microphones outside. This can get quite loud. But Unitron has something to counter this, namely a strongly damping, adjustable wind noise suppression. It works very well and helps all those who enjoy being outside. One of the most important criteria in evaluating a hearing aid is the number of frequency bands. They determine the fine-tuning options. The V Moxi 9 RS has the best prerequisites for achieving precise sound results with its 20 bands. Even in the following years, one can continue to make differentiated adjustments here. 3D hearing is very important for a natural impression. The device leaves nothing to be desired in this respect and impressed us in this regard.

By the way, you might perceive the sound of this Unitron device as clearer and more natural, especially in noisy environments. This is likely due to the implemented artificial intelligence. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the V Moxi 9 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. The small remote control, which is available as an option, is very practical. For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid's volume or switch to another listening program. Nobody notices, and reaching for the ear is unnecessary.

Voice control for devices is widespread in other areas, and now it is also available for hearing aids. The V Moxi 9 RS can adjust the volume or switch to another hearing program with a simple voice command. With sensor technology, Unitron is taking an innovative approach and opening up entirely new opportunities. For example, there is a tap control for the V Moxi 9 RS. Just tap briefly but noticeably with your flat hand or a few fingers on your ear. The hearing aid can then perform a specific function, such as switching to a special setting. Your audiologist can configure this according to your preferences.

Manual control includes an app. This allows for discreet access to the hearing aid. In addition to volume control, you can also adjust hearing programs and a few other functions. One of the best features of the hearing aid is the direct streaming function. This turns the hearing aid into a TrueWireless headphone and receives phone calls and other sounds directly in your ear. A compatible smartphone that contains 2.4 GHz technology is a prerequisite. The biggest advantage is that you can hear phone calls not just in one ear but in both. Additionally, the sound can be tailored to personal preferences.

Now let’s briefly discuss everyday usability. Is the V Moxi 9 RS user-friendly and easy to handle? Does it have water protection? Here are our findings: Ideally, the hearing aid should operate largely autonomously. The performance of the V Moxi 9 RS is exceptionally good in this regard. It stores a variety of typical hearing situations, which the device autonomously recognizes and always generates the appropriate setting. The integrated adaptation manager can be of great help when starting to use hearing aids. Its task is to gradually increase the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until the target volume is reached. This allows you to relax and gradually acclimatize to the new hearing impressions. In our opinion, a very useful development in recent years is the integrated rechargeable battery. We are used to recharging electronic devices in our daily lives. The V Moxi 9 RS is also rechargeable, allowing us to avoid the hassle of battery changes.

The hearing aid has been rated IP68, guaranteeing comprehensive protection against dust intrusion. Water also cannot easily damage the hearing aid. This makes it well-equipped for outdoor activities where it may get wet and dirty. However, do not go swimming or bathing with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter the composition and may ultimately cause damage.

Manchmal gibt es in den Hörgeräten noch Zusatzfunktionen, die ganz nützlich sein können. Mal sehen, wie das bei diesem Unitron-Gerät ist: Richtig gut gefallen hat uns das optionale Tinnitusprogramm. Es gibt doch relativ viele Menschen, die gelegentlich oder häufig von einem Pfeifen oder Rauschen im Ohr geplagt sind. Das Tinnitusprogramm im V Moxi 9 RS ist eigentlich nichts weiter als ein Klanggenerator. Es geht darum, breitbandige Geräusche oder Klänge zu erzeugen, die sanft und angenehm alle Hörbereiche stimulieren. Der Tinnitus geht darin unter und wird nicht mehr als störend wahrgenommen.

Spannend finden wir den Fernwartungsdienst, den man in Anspruch nehmen kann. Wenn man keine Gelegenheit hat, zum Hörakustiker zu fahren, kontaktiert man ihn stattdessen über die App, beschreibt kurz sein Hörproblem und erhält anschließend ein Datenpaket mit einer neuen Hörgerätkonfiguration. Wenn die sich gut anhört, lädt man sie in seine Hörgeräte.  

Hätte Unitron Bewegungssensoren in dieses Hörgerät integriert, dann könnte sogar ein individuelles Gesundheits-Tracking erfolgen. Das ist hier aber nicht der Fall. Diese Punkte gehen dem V Moxi 9 RS in der Wertung verloren. Dieses Unitron-Hörgerät hat keine weiteren Lifestyle-Optionen an Bord. Anderswo gibt es Sprachassistenten oder Erinnerungsfunktionen, aber zum guten Hören braucht man das nicht. Es hätte das Produkt nur etwas cooler gemacht.

Unser Fazit für dieses Hörgerät fällt sehr positiv aus: Hier bekommen wir ein kleines Technikwunder, das uns auf ganzer Linie beeindruckt hat. Sowohl der Hörkomfort als auch die Ausstattung für den täglichen Gebrauch lassen keine Wünsche offen. Sehr gerne vergeben wir die Gesamtnote 1,39 und sind uns sicher, dass man mit diesem Gerät ein tolles Hörerlebnis bekommt.
