The Widex Moment 110 CIC-M in review
Dieses Gerät ist technisch nicht mehr ganz akutell und wurde von der Widex Allure-Familie abgelöst. Wir nehmen daher eine Abwertung der Gesamtnote vor.
Widex offers the Moment 110 CIC-M, a truly small hearing aid that is worn in the ear. It is a hearing aid from the upper mid-range category and is suitable for moderate, more severe, and changing hearing losses. The wearing position just a few millimeters in front of the eardrum ensures that sound reaches the eardrum without loss.
The unstoppable advance of hardware miniaturization and improvement of materials enables ever smaller designs. If you want to know more about the technical innovations of this device series, read our article Widex Moment.
Hearing comfort
In the Hearing Comfort section, we look at how a hearing aid handles all the background noise. A comfortable noise management significantly contributes to a user liking and regularly wearing their hearing aids. With this Widex device, we found only limited options for comfort adjustment. The regular noise suppression is designed to mitigate monotonous, drone-like background noises. With the Moment 110 CIC-M, we had hoped for a bit more depth of adjustment, but – well.
Deductions are made for the lack of impulse sound suppression. Normally, this would dampen short, rattling noises. But those who choose this hearing aid shouldn't let that bother them. Wind noise is another special topic. Anyone who has been outside with older hearing aids knows what we're talking about. However, with the Moment 110 CIC-M, this is not an issue due to its design. The wind doesn’t really reach the microphones because they are located in the ear canal. The Moment 110 CIC-M impresses us with its natural, spatial hearing. The outer ear retains its function, making the 3D feeling exactly as if no hearing aid is worn at all. The settings available in the equalizer are rather coarse. The frequency response is divided into 6 segments. Within these individual areas, nothing can be changed further. This could lead to some sound weaknesses in the Moment 110 CIC-M, and the separation of speech and background noise does not work as well as we would actually like.
Strategies based on artificial intelligence are not yet implemented in this hearing aid from Widex.
The deeper the hearing aids sit in the ear, the more natural the sound capture is. A lack of impulse sound suppression, for example, doesn't matter much here, as these short, sharp sound events are already intercepted by the valleys and hills of the outer ear before they reach the hearing aid microphone.
Rating Hearing comfort: 3,5

Widex Moment 110 CIC-M: The visibility of these miniature hearing aids always depends on anatomical conditions. If your ear canal does not offer much space, the hearing aids will naturally sit a bit further outside. The larger the ear canal, the deeper they can be positioned.
Operation & connectivity
Digital hearing aids have long evolved beyond the basic amplification function. Apps and other control options significantly expand the range of features, which is why we are also looking at this important topic with the Moment 110 CIC-M from Widex. We couldn't find a button, which is a pity. Let's continue to look. We did not find a remote control. That's a shame, because we actually find this discreet control option quite good.
In the test, we did not find a voice control option. This function is not necessarily required, but it would have pleased us nonetheless. Another option for controlling the hearing aids is a tap control. This involves simply tapping your fingers on your ear, which in turn triggers a specific function. However, this option is not available in this Widex device.
A very typical control option nowadays is apps for smartphones. The Moment 110 CIC-M also has an app. With it, you can intuitively adjust the volume or switch programs. You can't go too wrong with it, as there isn't much more functionality. If you were looking forward to wireless streaming, we unfortunately have to disappoint you, as a wireless module was unfortunately not integrated here.
Rating Operation & connectivity: 3,5

Widex Moment 110 CIC-M: Since there is no manual control available on these devices, you are reliant on using the free ToneLink app to adjust the volume and programs.

Simplicity & security
How does one manage with the hearing aid in everyday life? This is the next aspect we will assess. Because only if such a device functions easily and uncomplicated can one become accustomed to it. We do not necessarily experience simple, comfortable hearing with the Moment 110 CIC-M. In a quieter daily routine, one can certainly manage, but as soon as you have a varied hearing day, manual adjustments become unavoidable. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually get used to the new auditory impressions.
The Moment 110 CIC-M is not rechargeable. It operates with size 10 hearing aid batteries. Disadvantage: The batteries are disposed of after use. Advantage: Daily charging of batteries is eliminated, the hearing aid can run continuously for several days on a single battery.
The Moment 110 is virtually dust and waterproof and, with its IP 68 classification, is certainly well protected against external influences.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,8
Extras
Before we come to the end, let's take a look at the extras: Here we noticed the tinnitus option. Those who wish can have a special tinnitus program set up. This applies a gentle noise to the ears if needed, to distract from the annoying tinnitus a little. The sounds can be designed according to personal hearing preferences.
How about remote maintenance? Such online services save the trip to the specialist store, as you can directly contact an acoustics professional through the app. Unfortunately, we haven't found anything like that for the Moment 110 CIC-M at the moment. That's a shame, that would have been a great additional tool.
Many hearing aids still come with a few health functions today. However, since the Moment 110 CIC-M does not have any special sensors for this, we cannot present any particular features here. The hearing aid does without additional functions such as special assistance systems, a fall alarm, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it does not affect the important hearing functions.
Rating Extras: 3,3
Conclusion: Widex Moment 110 CIC-M
In the overall result, this test device ranks in the lower positions and lacks some features. We give it a grade of 4. For less demanding listeners, this is acceptable; however, for a very active lifestyle, we recommend a hearing aid with more extensive comfort features.
