The Moment 330 CIC from Widex is a hearing aid of very small size that is worn in the ear. By using it in the position directly in the ear canal, very good sound transmission is possible. The Moment 330 CIC is a hearing aid from the higher price range and is suitable for mild, moderate, and even profound hearing needs.
Hearing comfort
The hearing comfort determines whether someone enjoys wearing their hearing aids or not. That's why we first looked at how the hearing aid handles background noise. In this model, which Widex presents, a solid comfort programming by the audiologist is possible. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to dampen exhausting background noises. The Moment 330 CIC operates average with noise suppression but is somewhat modifiable. Wind noise is not an issue with this hearing aid, as the microphones are sufficiently concealed in the ear canal, preventing wind from reaching them. Therefore, there is no need for an electronic wind manager.
Quickly occurring, rattling noises are noticeably and sufficiently dampened, which we find pleasant. With the Moment 330 CIC, there is no need to reconstruct 3D hearing, as it remains completely intact. This is made possible by the deep fit in the ear canal. The Moment 330 CIC has 12 adjustable frequency bands and operates in the midrange. A good acoustician can certainly extract a reasonable sound from this.
Other hearing aids already use artificial intelligence in their signal processing, but the Moment 330 CIC does not yet implement this strategy.

Almost everyone of us owns a smartphone, so it's natural to wonder if it can be connected to the new hearing aid. Let's take a look at the connectivity and usability of the Moment 330 CIC. Unfortunately, this hearing aid lacks a direct control option. This is probably due to its small size. However, this doesn't have to be a disadvantage, as often the automatic functions are sufficient. A remote control is available for the Moment 330 CIC. It's very handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume up/down option as well as various listening programs.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but this one from Widex cannot yet. It would be convenient for those whose fingers are not as nimble or for those who simply enjoy smart gadgets. Tap Control would also have been an interesting feature. This allows you to change the function with a quick tap on the ear. But this is not yet available in the Moment 330 CIC.
Widex offers a compatible app for easier operation. However, it is not particularly well-equipped and hardly goes beyond the basic functions such as volume and hearing programs. A small, convenient additional tool makes the model streaming-capable and connects it not only to the smartphone but also to the tablet or the hands-free system in the car.

Simplicity & security
Of course, we are also interested in how quickly one gets used to the Moment 330 CIC and how easy daily use is. A well-functioning situational recognition already creates a lot of relaxation in the hearing experience. One does not have to constantly switch between settings and can easily indulge in the automated adjustment. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It gradually raises the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This significantly eases the adjustment to the new sound.
We regret that the Moment 330 CIC does not have a rechargeable battery but operates with size 10 hearing aid batteries. This is not really problematic, but one should remember to carry spare batteries. On the other hand: this hearing aid does not need to be charged daily, and with one battery, it runs for a longer time.
The Moment 330 is nearly dust and water-resistant and, with its IP 68 rating, is certainly well protected against external influences.

Lastly, we are interested in whether there are any additional goodies on top: We noticed the tinnitus option. Those who wish can have a special tinnitus program set up. This creates a gentle noise to help distract from the annoying tinnitus. The sounds can be tailored to personal taste.
Widex is keeping up with the times and provides a forward-looking feature with the remote adjustment service. Busy individuals with little time can contact their acoustician online and have their hearing aids reprogrammed. Hearing aid wearers who have a longer travel distance to the specialist store also benefit from this special service.
Tracking health data is a real added value in modern hearing aids. However, this Widex model lacks the sensors for this service. It would have been nice to have some lifestyle functions, but the current 330 CIC does not offer them. Other hearing aids can excel with features like language translation or fall alerts, but here it remains within the usual range of functions.
