First, we assess the hearing comfort features. What types of noises does the hearing aid recognize? How does it handle them? Is the hearing aid suitable for a varied daily life? Here, with this test device, the manufacturer provides the customer with comprehensive noise management. As in all hearing aids, we also find the typical background noise cancellation here. It is designed to reduce monotonous, noisy ambient sounds to the point where they no longer dominate. With the G7 16 ITC Li 7, Audio Service has implemented effective noise reduction. It operates at a high performance level and offers the user very good comfort.
This device features really good wind management, making outdoor activities enjoyable. It also detects impulsive sounds and reduces them to a tolerable level. With 20 channels, the frequency band count in the G7 16 ITC Li 7 is very high. This allows the hearing aid to be perfectly adjusted for each individual hearing loss and provides good long-term tuning possibilities. A real highlight of this device is the spatial hearing. The simplest method of operation is always a button directly on the hearing aid. This one has it too. It can be programmed according to your wishes. Do you want a manual volume control? No problem, the button allows for a stepwise adjustment of the volume. Or do you need different special programs for your work or hobbies? These can also be activated via the button. Anyone who wants to keep everything in automatic mode can simply ignore the button or even have it deactivated. A very practical feature is the small remote control, which is available as an option. For us, it is one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid louder or quieter or switch to another hearing program. No one notices it, and there’s no need to reach for the ear.
In our test, we did not find any voice control options. This feature is not necessarily essential, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. There is no control of the hearing aids with a simple fingertip in this Audio Service model, as specific sensors in the housing would have been needed for that.
As is common today, we also find a smartphone app for the G7 16 ITC Li 7. This app includes solid basic functions and adds a few goodies on top. A streaming option would not be bad for our digital everyday life. The device in question meets our request and includes a 2.4 GHz radio module. This allows you to send phone calls and sounds directly from your smartphone to the hearing aids.

It quietly increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can comfortably and gradually get used to the new hearing impressions.
The G7 16 ITC Li 7 is rechargeable and no longer requires hearing aid batteries. This is environmentally friendly, as there are no old batteries to dispose of. At the same time, it is also extremely convenient since no spare batteries need to be carried. The hearing aids simply go into the charging station in the evening and are ready for use the next morning.
We also take a look at the robustness of the casing and discover in the datasheet that it has an IP 68 protection class. This means that dust cannot penetrate at all, and water only becomes a concern after prolonged submersion. There is also protection against contact.
