Hearing comfort
Right from the start, we address the topic of hearing comfort. By this, we mean all the features that ensure a completely pleasant, rich, and disturbance-free sound. In the Entra B 20 MNB T, we found few options to influence comfort.
Classic noise suppression is, of course, present here as well. Its job is to recognize and slightly reduce simple surrounding sounds. In this Bernafon model, it works quite well. In a normal hearing environment, it is certainly manageable. The Entra B 20 MNB T also features impulse noise suppression. It reliably detects all short, clattering noises, but the reduction is rather minimal.
When it comes to wind noise suppression, we are dealing with a relatively simple wind damper. Orientation in space, localizing sounds or speakers is rather difficult with this hearing aid. There are no supportive functions for the microphones. We can hardly give it any points here, and we recommend considering this aspect. After all, spatial hearing also serves to navigate in public spaces and traffic. A solid basis for programming the Entra B 20 MNB T is provided by the 14 equalizer bands. As sound junkies, we would like to have a few more, but for the typical situations we experience in our daily lives, a quite decent sound profile can be created from them. Strategies based on artificial intelligence have not yet been implemented in this Bernafon hearing aid.

Operation & connectivity
The controls of hearing aids today are as simple or as complex as one might like. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how a user can access the Entra B 20 MNB T beyond that. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the Entra B 20 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be disabled if desired. Those who prefer not to touch their ear to adjust the volume will appreciate the optional remote control, allowing for convenient and discreet changes to the hearing aid.
The modern form of operation via voice command is not yet found in the Entra B 20 MNB T. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, tap control might be conceivable, meaning triggering a specific function by tapping the ear with fingers. However, this option is not available in the Entra B 20 MNB T.
An app on the smartphone is intended to facilitate operation, and we found one for the Entra B 20 MNB T as well. In addition to the basic functions like volume and programs, we found a few more buttons for personalization. The Entra B 20 comes with a 2.4 GHz antenna and allows for bilateral phone calls. This actually gives us an advantage over normal hearing individuals. We find this great and are happy to give it points.

Here are our findings: Automatic environmental adjustments would certainly be helpful in daily life, but unfortunately, this is not provided in the Entra B 20 MNB T. Therefore, we have to rely on manual control options. We give a big plus point for the automatic acclimatization assistant. It raises the starting volume in very small steps until my hearing goal is reached. This greatly facilitates getting used to the new sound.

We had a carefree everyday experience in our test due to the IP-68 certification. This indicates that the hearing aid is particularly well protected against dust and water. We marched through the rain and then took out the hearing aids with wet hands - no problem at all. However, the water resistance really only applies to fresh, natural water and not to foamy bath water or saltwater.

Here it looks like this: We were particularly impressed by the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently troubled by a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Entra B 20 MNB T is basically nothing more than a sound generator. It is about generating broadband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus is drowned out in it and is no longer perceived as disturbing.
Bernafon is keeping up with the times and offers a forward-looking feature with the remote adjustment service. Working individuals with little time can contact their audiologist online and have their hearing aids reprogrammed. Hearing aid users who have a longer journey to the specialist store also benefit from this special service.
Many hearing aids still have some health features today. However, since the Entra B 20 MNB T does not have any special sensors for this, we cannot present any particularities here. There are also a few lifestyle features that turn your hearing aid into a smart assistant.
