The flow+ 675 UP from Hansaton is a conventional hearing aid that is worn behind the ear. The customer receives a well-grippable, compact hearing aid from the basic price segment, which can compensate for moderate to severe hearing losses.
Hearing comfort
First, we looked at the comfort features. The better these are, the easier and more pleasant the hearing experience becomes. In this hearing aid, we found few options for influencing comfort. The traditional noise suppression ensures that uniform, unimportant sounds are slightly reduced. In the flow+ 675 UP, the noise suppression can be adjusted to the customer's preferences. We searched in vain for wind management; there is no wind noise reduction here.
The flow+ 675 UP also features impulse sound suppression. It reliably detects all short, clicking noises, but the attenuation is rather minimal. The hearing aid automatically decides whether the microphones should be directed towards a speaker or not. You have a decent spatial impression, but accurately assigning directions or estimating distances through hearing is not so easy. A few more frequency channels would be desirable, but with the existing 12 channels, it can already be worked with quite well.
A fascinating topic in hearing acoustics is the use of artificial intelligence, but this is not yet applied in this Hansaton model.

Operation & connectivity
The majority of features are activated automatically by this Hansaton model. However, it is sometimes very useful to be able to expand the range of functions a bit more. In our test, we discovered what options we have here. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the flow+ as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. Is the flow+ remote-controllable? Unfortunately not, there is no suitable device available for this.
In the test, we found no option for voice control. This function is not necessarily essential, but we would have appreciated it nonetheless. Tap Control would have been an interesting feature as well. With this, you can change the function with a quick tap on the ear. However, this is not available in the flow+ 675 UP yet.
Although smartphone apps are now offered for many hearing aids, Hansaton unfortunately does not provide one for its flow+ 675 UP yet. There is no option for connectivity to other audio sources here. It's a pity, because a wireless streaming function would have provided real added value.

Simplicity & security
How do you manage with the hearing aid in everyday life? This is the next aspect we will evaluate. Because only if such a device functions easily and uncomplicated can one become accustomed to it. When it comes to adapting to changing hearing situations, we have to limit ourselves to the manual options with the flow+ 675 UP. An automatic situation recognition would definitely have made life easier, but it is not available here. The adjustment to the new hearing experience is supported by this device with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely balanced. I don't have to do anything other than regularly wear my hearing aids.
The flow+ 675 UP is not rechargeable. It continues to get its energy from disposable batteries of size 675, which need to be changed every few days.
Let’s take a look at the robustness of the housing and discover in the data sheet the protection class IP 68. This prevents dust from entering, and water only becomes dangerous after prolonged submersion. Protection against contact is also included.

Before we reach the end, let's take a look at the extras: Here we noticed the tinnitus option. If you wish, you can set up a special tinnitus program. This gently puts a soothing noise into your ears to distract from the annoying tinnitus. The sounds can be tailored to your personal hearing preference.
A nice feature would be a remote maintenance service, so you could get help from a hearing professional even when you can't come to the store. Unfortunately, this is not available here, so there are no extra points for it.
Some hearing aids can track certain health data. However, this requires special sensors in the hearing aid, which we unfortunately do not have in the flow+ 675 UP. The hearing aid also forgoes additional functions like special assistance systems, a fall alert, or language translators. This is not a big deal, as it does not affect the essential hearing functions.
