A very quick way to adjust the volume is the small button on the device. It's easy to feel, and you can increase or decrease the volume in several steps. You can also activate additional programs for special listening situations with it. If you want to do without the button, you can simply have it disabled. The small remote control, which is optionally available, is very practical. For us, it's one of the most convenient ways to adjust the hearing aid louder or quieter or to switch to another hearing program. Nobody notices it, and there’s no need to reach for the ear.

Voice commands are a relatively new way to operate hearing aids. However, in this model, we do not have this option yet. That's not a big deal - the main thing is that you can hear well. Tap Control would also have been an interesting feature. With that, you can change the function with a quick tap on the ear. But that's not available in the Insio 5 AX Charge&Go yet.

The operation of the Insio 5 AX Charge&Go is relatively straightforward through the associated app. It brings a lot of additional functions and has impressed us quite a bit. We particularly enjoyed using the equalizer during the test. As a person with normal hearing, you might almost feel envious, as you don't find anything like that with wireless headphones. We had a lot of fun with the direct, wireless streaming. This means that calls from a smartphone are transferred to the hearing aids without additional accessories. This turns the hearing aid into the perfect hands-free system or wireless headphones. Listening to music or watching and hearing videos is incredibly comfortable.

With the Insio 5 AX Charge&Go, we experienced an effective situation automation that supports our hearing well. This ensures that we don't constantly need to adjust something on the hearing aid. Some people find it difficult to get used to it, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to cope with the new volume. There is a comfort manager that gradually introduces us to the required target amplification. The period can last a few weeks or several months; it is adjustable individually. The individual steps are so small that you hardly notice that there has been an increase in volume.

The Insio 5 AX Charge&Go comes with a charging device because it has built-in batteries. This is modern, user-friendly, and we expect this from a contemporary hearing aid.

Hearing aids are exposed to external influences. However, this model does not have any special coating against moisture or dust. This is unusual nowadays and surprises us. Therefore, optimal care is essential here.

At the end of our test report, there is still a little space for the extra features: We were particularly impressed by the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently plagued by a whistling or ringing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the Insio 5 AX Charge&Go is essentially nothing more than a sound generator. It is designed to produce broadband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus gets drowned out and is no longer perceived as bothersome.

Signia is keeping up with the times and offers a future-oriented feature with the remote adjustment service. Working individuals with little time can contact their audiologist online and have their hearing aids reprogrammed. Hearing aid users who have a longer journey to the specialist store also benefit from this special service.

For health-conscious individuals, there is a small special feature in the Insio 5 AX Charge&Go: Health tracking. For example, steps can be counted throughout the day, providing feedback on one's activity level. Sensors in the hearing aid track individual data, which can then be checked in the app. This Signia hearing aid does not have any other lifestyle options on board. Elsewhere, there are voice assistants or reminder functions, but you don't need that for good hearing. It would only have made the product a bit cooler.
