However, this doesn't have to be a disadvantage, as often the automatic functions are sufficient. Is the Genesis AI 20 remotely controllable? Unfortunately not; no suitable device is available here.
Voice commands are a fairly new way to operate hearing aids. In this model, we don't have this option yet. That's not too bad - the main thing is that you can hear well. Tap Control would also have been an interesting feature. With it, you could change the function with a quick tap on the ear. But that is not available in the Genesis AI 20 IIC NW yet.
We find the app for the Genesis AI 20 IIC NW to be a bit sparse. It's best to take a look at the demo version before purchasing the hearing aid to see if it meets your needs. But we don't want to complain; the app is definitely useful. If you were looking forward to wireless streaming, we unfortunately have to disappoint you, as a wireless module has not been integrated here.

The Genesis AI 20 IIC NW performs excellently here and adapts to many situations. Some people have difficulty with the adjustment, but this hearing aid makes it easy for us to cope with the new volume. There is an acclimatization manager that gradually leads us to the required target amplification. The period can last a few weeks or even several months, and it can be adjusted individually. The individual steps are so small that one hardly notices that there has just been an increase in volume.
The Genesis AI 20 IIC NW is not rechargeable; it is powered by hearing aid batteries. Unlike a rechargeable battery, it does not need to be charged every day, but the size 10 battery will be replaced after a few days.
With IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand various adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it withstands longer immersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.

This is a simple yet effective tool and earns extra points from us.
What about remote maintenance? Such online services save a trip to the specialist store because you can directly contact an acoustics professional through the app. Unfortunately, we did not find anything like that for the Genesis AI 20 IIC NW. That's a shame; it would have been a great additional tool.
