Widex offers the Moment 330 RIC 10, a miniature hearing aid approximately 1 cm long that is worn behind the ear. It is a hearing aid from the Advanced Class and is suitable for mild, moderate, and severe hearing needs. The speaker, which is located directly in the ear canal, ensures that sound reaches the eardrum without losses.
Hearing comfort
The comfort features determine how pleasant listening is experienced in everyday life. In this hearing aid, we found few options for influencing comfort. A classic noise suppression is supposed to reduce annoying background noises to a tolerable level. The Moment 330 RIC 10's noise suppression works rather average at the moment but is slightly modifiable. We searched in vain for wind management; there is no wind noise reduction here.
The suppression of short, loud sound events has convinced us here; it is quite powerful. The microphones of the hearing aid can take on different directional characteristics. They do this independently, adjusting to the acoustic conditions and creating a natural spatial feeling. The Moment 330 RIC 10 has 12 adjustable frequency bands, placing it in the mid-range. A good acoustician can certainly extract a reasonable sound from it.
Strategies based on artificial intelligence are not yet employed in this hearing aid from Widex.

Operation & connectivity
“Can I make adjustments to my hearing aid myself?” “Is there perhaps an app?” These and similar questions are becoming increasingly important when choosing a hearing aid, so let's take a look at the operating and connectivity options. We couldn't find a button, which is a pity. Let's keep looking. A remote control is available for the Moment 330 RIC 10. It's quite handy, fits in your pocket, and offers a volume option as well as various hearing programs.
Voice commands are a fairly new way to operate hearing aids. However, in this model, we don't have that option yet. That's not a big deal - the main thing is that you can hear well. Besides buttons or remote controls, some hearing aids also have a tap control. This means you can simply tap your ear briefly, and the device will switch. However, we don't have that here at Widex, as it would have required specific sensors.
An app for individual control is available for free. But here we only find normal functions, which are useful but the app isn't really enjoyable. In the test, we also tried out a small additional tool, a streamer. It wirelessly connects the hearing aids with all sorts of mobile devices. This wireless transmission feature was one of the most sensible elements in this hearing aid. We could talk on the phone wonderfully and heard the conversation in both ears. We could also enjoy music while jogging or listen to a podcast during our lunch break at our desired volume, without disturbing others.

Simplicity & security
Usability is the next aspect we want to focus on. This is about practicality in everyday life and the question of how easy and safe it is to go about life with the hearing aid. A well-functioning situational awareness already brings a lot of relaxation to the hearing experience. One does not have to constantly switch settings on the device and can easily rely on automated adjustments. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually increases the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually get used to the new sound experiences.
The Moment 330 RIC 10 is not rechargeable. It continues to get its power from disposable batteries size 10, which need to be changed every few days.
The Moment 330 is almost dustproof and waterproof and, with its IP 68 classification, is certainly well protected against external influences.

Abschließend wollen wir wissen, ob das Hörgerät vielleicht noch Specials anbietet: Widex hat einen Geräuschgenerator integriert, der für Tinnitus-Geplagte ein paar lindernde Klänge abspielt. Das kann vom Tinnitus ablenken und für etwas mehr Entspannung sorgen.
Einen sehr guten Zusatznutzen erhält man durch das Angebot der Fernwartung. Über die App kann man mit seinem Hörakustiker Kontakt aufnehmen und sein Hörproblem schildern. Der kann die Einstellung entsprechend verändern und über die App in die Hörgeräte laden. Für Menschen mit wenig Zeit oder einem weiten Anfahrtsweg ist das ein toller Service.
Sensoren gibt es in dieser Moment 330-Variante nicht, so dass auch das beliebte Gesundheits-Tracking nicht angeboten werden kann. Dabei werden z.B. die Schritte über den Tag gezählt. Wie gesagt - dieses Hörgerät hat diese Funktion nicht an Bord. Auf zusätzliche Funktionen wie spezielle Assistenzsysteme, einen Sturzalarm oder Sprachübersetzer verzichtet das Hörgerät. Das ist nicht weiter schlimm, denn es hat keinen Einfluss auf die wichtigen Hörfunktionen.
