Hearing comfort
The hearing comfort determines whether someone likes to wear their hearing aids or not. That's why we first looked at how the hearing aid handles background noises. In this model, which Unitron presents to us, we found only a few options for influencing comfort. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to mitigate exhausting background noises. In the T Insera 600 312 W, the effectiveness of noise suppression is slightly above the required minimum. Nevertheless, the sounds will still be audible. A fairly solid wind management is available in the T Insera 600 312 W and should be sufficient for everyday use.
There is also a so-called impulse noise filter. It slightly dampens short and loud noises. This is a useful function, but we would have wished for a bit more depth of adjustment. We have to forego spatial hearing with the T Insera 600 312 W, but at least the microphones can be switched to a focus mode. We also look at the number of equalizer bands: the device from Unitron comes with 10. We are not really happy with this; the options for sound shaping are quite limited. However, it is sufficient for good speech understanding.
Other hearing aids already use artificial intelligence in their signal processing, but the T Insera 600 312 W does not yet incorporate this strategy.

Operation & connectivity
The operation of hearing aids today can be as simple or as complex as one desires. The basic functions operate fully automatically, of course. We wanted to know how users can access the T Insera 600 312 W beyond that. Usually, there is a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the T Insera 600 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. A remote control for the hearing aid is available upon request, allowing for effortless volume adjustment. The operation is not only incredibly easy, but no one will notice that you are adjusting your hearing aids.
Some hearing aids can already be controlled by voice, but unfortunately, this one from Unitron cannot yet. This would be practical when fingers are less mobile or if one simply likes smart gadgets. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, tap control could be conceivable, which would involve triggering a specific function by tapping the fingers on the ear. However, this option is not available in the T Insera 600 312 W.
An additional app for individual control would be nice, but is currently not offered for this hearing aid. A smartphone or tablet can easily be connected with a small streaming device that transmits sound wirelessly to the hearing aid.

In a quieter daily life, one can manage quite well, but as soon as there is a varied hearing environment, manual adjustments become unavoidable. We are very pleased with the integrated acclimatization manager. It gradually raises the volume of the hearing aid in tiny steps until our target amplification is eventually reached. We can relax and gradually adjust to the new hearing impressions.
Unfortunately, the T Insera 600 312 W is not equipped with a rechargeable battery, so you need to regularly use size 312 batteries for operation.
The hearing aid has been classified in the IP protection class 68. This guarantees comprehensive protection against the ingress of dust. Water also cannot easily harm the hearing aid. This makes it well-equipped for outdoor activities, where it can get wet and dirty. However, do not go swimming or bathing with the hearing aids. Bath additives or the salt content in seawater can alter the composition and ultimately cause damage.

It's a pity; that would have been a great additional tool.
