The Unitron T Stride 600 P in review
Unitron introduces its T Stride 600 P, a traditional hearing aid from the basic price segment. It is a discreet hearing aid for moderate to severe hearing loss and is worn behind the ear.
Hearing comfort
At least as important as speech comprehension is listening comfort. After all, our environment should sound as realistic and pleasant as possible. So let's take a look at sound management: In this model, which Unitron offers here, we found only limited options for influencing comfort. Of course, noise suppression is integrated to reduce exhausting background noises. In the T Stride 600 P, the effectiveness of the noise suppression is slightly above the required minimum. Nevertheless, the sounds will still be audible. A somewhat stronger wind reduction would be desirable, but the one in the T Stride 600 P is certainly manageable.
The noise filter in this hearing aid is quite solid and suitable for everyday use. We are far from a 3D sound experience here. Only the switchable forward focus offers a little hearing support in social situations. The 10 frequency channels are okay. However, it might be that the programming for individual hearing needs is not quite as precise, and there may be some compromises in sound quality.
Artificial intelligence-based strategies are not yet employed in this hearing aid from Unitron.
Even though today's hearing aids are hardly recognizable from the outside in terms of the technology inside, you should not underestimate the differences in the various price categories. We have gathered all the information for you: Hearing Aid Costs

Operation & connectivity
The majority of hearing aids automatically adjust to their surroundings. Nevertheless, it is sometimes very practical to be able to make some changes oneself. After all, the hearing aid doesn't know how one is feeling at the moment. We looked at the control options offered by the T Stride 600 P: There is usually a button on the hearing aid, and we found one on the T Stride 600 as well. It can be configured as a volume control or program selection button and can also be deactivated if desired. A discreet way to change the hearing aid is via the remote control. It fits in any pocket. When the person speaking is too quiet, just one or two clicks are enough to adjust the volume. Additional hearing programs for listening to music or driving can also be activated with the remote control.
The modern method of control via voice command is not yet found in the T Stride 600 P. If there are sensors in the hearing aid, tap control could be an option, which would involve activating a certain function by tapping the ear with one's fingers. However, this option is not available in the T Stride 600 P.
An additional app for individual control would be nice, but it is not currently offered for this hearing aid. A small, convenient accessory tool makes the model streaming-capable and connects it not only with smartphones but also with tablets or car hands-free systems.

Simplicity & security
Of course, we are also interested in how quickly one gets along with the T Stride 600 P and how easy daily use is. When it comes to simplicity in hearing, we don't make compromises. We expect the hearing aid to operate fully automatically in the background and not let us constantly push any buttons. With the T Stride 600 P, we are somewhat disappointed. Only the basic situations are recognized automatically. This means that we cannot really get by without manual operating options. The adaptation to the new hearing experience is supported by this device with a fully automatic acclimatization manager. It adjusts the amplification in barely noticeable steps until my hearing loss is completely compensated. I don't have to do anything other than wear my hearing aids regularly.
Zinc-air batteries power the T Stride 600 P. Changing the battery could become quite cumbersome for people with limited dexterity or visual ability. If you have concerns about this, it's better to look for a rechargeable model.
With an IP 68 certification, the hearing aid can withstand a variety of adverse influences. Dust cannot penetrate, it can withstand prolonged submersion in water, and it is also protected against contact.
Rating Simplicity & security: 2,8
Extras
At the end of our test report, there is a bit of space for the extra features: We were really impressed with the optional tinnitus program. There are quite a few people who are occasionally or frequently plagued by a ringing or buzzing in their ears. The tinnitus program in the T Stride 600 P is actually nothing more than a sound generator. It is designed to produce broadband noises or sounds that gently and pleasantly stimulate all areas of hearing. The tinnitus gets drowned out and is no longer perceived as disturbing.
An online contact to the hearing care professional via the app would be very useful. This is already quite common today and provides assistance with minor adjustment issues. Unfortunately, Unitron opts out of this and therefore does not earn any extra points.
If Unitron had integrated motion sensors into this hearing aid, it could even allow for individual health tracking. However, this is not the case here. These points are lost in the rating for the T Stride 600 P. The device from Unitron focuses on the essential hearing functions and does not offer extras like voice assistants or translation features. While that could have been fun, it is not required for a good listening experience.
Rating Extras: 3,3
Conclusion: Unitron T Stride 600 P
With an overall score of 3.33, this model holds its ground in the mid-range. It has quite a decent level of comfort features on board, sufficient for typical everyday moments and provides a satisfying listening experience.
